The Nomadic Cooling X3 Camper Van Air Conditioner uses significantly less energy than a conventional rooftop electric AC. Most rooftop air conditioners require 120-volt AC power to operate, requiring your van to be permanently connected to shore power or a fossil-fuel generator. However, the Nomadic Cooling X3 Camper Van Air Conditioner only requires 12V or 24V DC power, allowing it to run directly from your battery bank without an inverter!

Eco Mode should be the default mode for the Nomadic Cooling X3 Camper Van Air Conditioner's operation. For optimal cooling, the powerful mode should only be used for brief periods of time due to its higher energy consumption.

As the outside air temperature rises, so does the energy required by the air conditioner. Nomadic Cooling evaluates the utmost power consumption of our air conditioning units at temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The following will be stated as the power consumption: 12 volts at 0.75 amps

When the outside temperature exceeds 100 degrees Fahrenheit, the Nomadic Cooling X3 12V Camper Van Air Conditioner will consume up to 75 amps of electricity. However, as the temperature outside drops, so too will the demand for energy. When determining the capacity of your battery bank, energy consumption will vary based on the ambient temperature.
