what size of a system would be needed for a cabin Battery Size? Just running the frig and a few light, every thing running on Gas and cabin can get very HOT

In order to determine what size system you would need for your cabin, what you would need to do is add up the start up wattage, or peak wattage, for each unit or applance you will be running on the solar kit. After you aquire the wattage of each unit, you would need to sum all of the appliances wattage togeter (as if you are running all the appliances and lights at the same time). After the sum has been calculated, you would need a kit with an inverter or inverter charger that will support more wattage than that sum you have calculated. I'm purchasing this kit for a school bus to travel-trailer conversion project. i plan on stringing multiple 12v batteries together to offer more energy storage space. So can this 400w 12v solar kit be used in conjunction with several batteries in a series or not?? thank you.

The correlation between batteries size and panels have a pretty easy trick to determine if the system is balanced, the easiest way to figure that out is;If you have 200ah battery bank you should take that number (200) and Double it (400) watts would be your solar array, or if you have 400ah, you would need 800 watts for what would be considered a "balanced" system. Basically what this would mean is your solar array is capable of charging your battery bank in a single day of charge with no loads.If the system strays to far from this equation you might run into not being able to charge your bank back to full, or bank for a small solar array.let us know if this helps.
