How Do BiLet Toilets Work?

BioLet unites the natural composting process with advanced technology accelerating and optimizing biological decomposition, evaporating excess liquid and exhausting odors… all within an elegant bathroom fixture that is easy to use and economical to operate.

The closed-system BioLet toilets are fully automatic electric toilets that anticipate your every move! Sitting on the toilet seat opens the trap doors; closing the toilet seat lid activates the stainless steel mixing mechanism that efficiently breaks down paper and distributes moisture into the compost material in the upper chamber. Material in the upper chamber is finished in the lower chamber and eventually emptied. The BioLet 65 features LED maintenance indicators to let you know when it is time to empty the lower chamber. The non-composted portion and the dry, composted portion are kept separate.

A fan circulates warm air under and around the compost for fast decomposition and evaporation of liquid. A float switch operates an additional bottom heater if excess liquid is detected. Once a week or as needed, mulch is added through the toilet seat opening.

Using efficient Swedish technology, electrical consumption is very low with an adjustable thermostat, which is set according to the number of people using the toilet. When you are away for more than two days, just turn off your BioLet!

My Biolet mixing mechanism is not turning, fan and heat works for startup. Does not mix.

Hello,

We spoke with Tech over at Biolet, and If this is a 15a, as noted above, then you must grasp the handle at the top of the toilet and manually turn the mixing mechanism. This is not an automatic unit. Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
We bought a used one, though never used, and have no idea if it has all it needs to work. Does this model have a power cord to run a fan? Ours doesn't. It does have the manual handle as this model does.

Hi Dawn,

The fan in the BioLet 15 is 110V AC. You can purchase a standard 3 or 2 wire replacement cord at most Hardware stores including Home Depot.

I toilet today so I can't comment on its performance yet but it looks way better than the one that I had. Plus it uses a lot less electricity. I do want to comment on your representative from Tiny House Brian. I was upset when I received the toilet with no bags. They had neglected to ship them. Caribbean Review

Excellent shipping time and the stove arrived in excellent shape. The cutting board rests on top of the burners and allows me extra counter space. My previous stove, an ENO, arrived damaged twice and wasn’t nearly as nice as the Dickinson Caribbean. Order Dickinson products from state side suppliers, they are cheaper that way and make sure they’re shipped freight to avoid UPS damage. Tiny House Essentials had the best price I could find. All questions I asked were answered in less than a day.

Excellent mini split

The outdoor unit is very quiet, but the indoor unit is nearly silent. Maintains a consistent temperature. Moves more air than I was expecting. The instruction manual is terrible.

Wow. It’s quiet and efficient. I installed it myself but asked an hvac tech to suction The lines and add the refrigerant. The tech only installs hi end units like Mitsubishi but was impressed by how this unit worked. The total cost was $1000 and this unit is eligible for an additional tax rebate. Professional buy and install would probably be $3000+

Cools our home addition so well

We purchased this for an addition to our house that doesn't have ducts. It keeps it so cool! We are able to set it on 78 and it keeps it to 74-75 and we are in a very hot climate. Our HVAC contractor installed it easily. We might buy another one for our garage!
