The Newport Solid Fuel Heater is a compact and efficient stainless steel solid fuel heater that is perfect for use in small spaces, including tiny homes and boats ranging from 20-25ft. This heater can burn one to two 1” thick wood or presto log, a handful of charcoal briquettes or coal, and provides a dry heat that can help to reduce moisture inside your tiny home or boat. The removable ash drawer and damper control make it easy to clean and adjust the heat output. For installation in tiny homes, a permanent fresh air vent is required in the area of the unit. Additionally, this heater requires 3” diameter chimney parts and a minimum of 4ft or a maximum of 8ft of chimney is needed, with a 6ft straight run with no elbows being the most efficient option. If you have a chimney that is 6ft or longer, we highly recommend adding a barometric damper to ensure optimal performance.

Features:

  • Creates a dry heat to dry out moisture inside your living space, perfect for marine life.
  • No Rust Stainless Steel Construction, Safe, Reliable, and Clean.
  • Removable ash drawer for easy cleaning and damper control to regulate the temperature
  • Bulkhead mounted heater, dutch door tile

Specifications:

Tiny stove big value

Working with TinyHouseEssentials was a nice shopping experience. I got the best price and received product fast and well packaged. Install was easy and works well for its small size. Heat output is low but inline with unit size.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • How many square feet can it sufficiently heat?

    Hello,

The Dickinson Marine Newport Solid Fuel Heater will heat 100-200 square feet with an output of 3000-8000 BTU.  Let us know if you have any further questions.

  • Can you use pellets in this stove

    Hello,

Yes you can use pellets in this stove, but you would need to make something up to keep the pellets from falling through the bottom Grate.  Let us know if you have any other questions

  • Is this certified to be installed in a small enclosed porch area? I am looking for a small wood burner that can heat about 130 sq ft

    Hello,

The Newport Solid Fuel Heater does not hold any certification.  It is designed for boats, so you should have no problem using it in a small enclosed porch area.

  • Is wood considered “solid fuel” for the purposes of this heater ?

    Hello,

The solid fuel heater burns one to two prices of 1” thick wood or presto log, a handful of charcoal briquettes or coal.  If you decide you want to burn wood pellets, you would need to make a tray to hold them as they could slip through the bottom grate.  Let us know if you have any other quesitons.

  • Do you have installers for this unit in a cabin? I am having a difficult time finding anyone willing to install it.

    Hi Lorrie,

We currently do not have installers but are working on getting a white glove delivery and installation service set up for the future.

  • How much for glass window?

Unfortunately we do not sell the parts individually.  You would need to go to the Dickinson Marine website for replacement parts.

  • Would it be possible to use this stove with a 30foot chimney if the vertical chimney is a masonry chimney with a 6” liner? I would like to install this in a basement and connect it to a liner inside a masonry chimney.

    Hello,

I've been in contact with the manufacturer and since none of us have seen or even heard of an install like this, we wouldn't recommend it.
